Cherenkov radiation and scattering of external dispersive waves by two-color solitons

چکیده
For waveguides with two separate regions of anomalous dispersion, it is possible to create a quasistable two-color solitary wave. In this paper, we consider how those waves interact dispersive radiation, i.e., both the generation Cherenkov radiation and scattering incident waves. We derive analytic resonance conditions verify them through numeric experiments. also report driving internal oscillations soliton during process in case an intense radiation. generalize for oscillating demonstrate one can use probe excite mode molecules.

Interaction of high-order solitons with external dispersive waves.
The effect of mutual interaction between second-order soliton and dispersive waves (DWs) is investigated. It is predicted analytically and confirmed numerically that DWs (both transmitted and reflected components) become polychromatic after interaction with the soliton. Collision with DWs of considerable intensity can lead to acceleration/deceleration and central frequency shift of the soliton,...
متن کاملPeriodic interactions between solitons and dispersive waves during the generation of non-coherent supercontinuum radiation.
We present a numerical study of interactions between dispersive waves (DWs) and solitons during supercontinuum generation in photonic crystal fibers pumped with picosecond laser pulses. We show how the soliton-induced trapping potential evolves along the fiber and affects the dynamics of a DW-soliton pair. Individual frequency components of the DW periodically interact with the soliton resultin...
متن کاملCherenkov radiation versus X-shaped localized waves.
Localized waves (LW) are nondiffracting ("soliton-like") solutions to the wave equations and are known to exist with subluminal, luminal, and superluminal peak velocities V. For mathematical and experimental reasons, those that have attracted more attention are the "X-shaped" superluminal waves. Such waves are associated with a cone, so that one may be tempted-let us confine ourselves to electr...
متن کاملDark Solitons, Dispersive Shock Waves, and Transverse Instabilities
The nature of transverse instabilities of dark solitons for the (2+1)-dimensional defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger/Gross–Pitaevskĭi (NLS/GP) equation is considered. Special attention is given to the small (shallow) amplitude regime, which limits to the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP) equation. We study analytically and numerically the eigenvalues of the linearized NLS/GP equation. The dispersion re...
